The Little Buck Run as it heads under the intersection of Routes 10 and 372 right in the center of town.
Little Buck Run is the little stream/brook/creek that that starts just north of town and runs along Route 10 and then under the intersection of Route 10 and 372 and finally out of town behind the Acme plaza and out into the fields south of town on its way to the Brandywine River watershed and eventually the Delaware River, some 25 miles away.
There aren’t many picture of the creek and since there is a $375,000 grant pending from the Brandywine Valley Association to clean up 1,400 feet of the creek and repair the damaged to the creek’s banks done by last summer’s storms, I figured I would take a few “before” pictures just for the record.
This set of pictures is from the Route 10/372 intersection waling up the creek bed north toward the train tracks about 200 feet roughly half-way to the rail road tracks.

The wall running along Route 372. On top is Route 372 running down to the light. At the bottom, Little Buck Run.

Good work Ken. I am looking forward to the improvements. Great pics, who would have known how the Run looks, thanks so much for keeping us up dated.
Hi, I took a historic walk with my daughter some time ago using maps of Parkesburg at different times and we would figure out what houses had been there and at what time comparing the maps. Our goal was to find the stream and we were able to look through two street grates in town (one by the library parking lot and one on First Avenue on the way there) and see the stream bottom through it. It was very enjoyable. This link is to one of the maps we used and you can see the stream on it. Thank you for this post. My kids always thought it was exciting there was a “river” underneath the town! http://ancestortracks.com/ChesterCo1883BreausFarmAtlas/Parkesburg.jpg
Thank s for the great share GSKKIDS. Several people around town have that same map hanging in their living rooms.
