Someone with a warped sense of humor taped this sign to the front door of the long abandoned Acme store earlier today.
Is this for real or is someone just pulling our collective leg?
Stay tuned, we’ll get to the bottom, and the top, of this story.
Tip of the hat to Adam Straubel of the for passing this along.

While part of me resents being tagged in this, the other half of me can’t stop laughing. If not for the investigative journalism of parkesburgtoday, the next borough council meeting would have been awesome. Thanks for keeping up the site!
Thank you Adam for finding this little gem earlier today!
FAKE OR OTHERWISE WHO CARES, IT IS FUNNY AND HARMLESS SO ENJOY FOR AWHILE . COULD BE INTERESTING THOUGH (HA)
Agreed Bob. The fact the sign is taped to the outside of the door right next to an apartment rental flier tells me this isn’t for real.
RIGHT ON THE MONEY KEN, GOOD EYE.
most likely a teenager with nothing better to do…. what has happened to our young people?
I don’t know Janey, I think its kind of humorous.
As a young person, I resent this comment with the same indignation that dave had towards the comments disrespecting older individuals.
If your question is restated “what has happened to some young people”, you’ll find that the question has an answer. Some young people have put through far more that you or I can imagine. Some young people are surrounded by negative adults and negative environments.
Young people aren’t something to complain tirelessly about, like taxes. If a joke sign results in exasperation, you would be hard pressed to stomach the home lives of a lot of young people in this community.
I remember, years ago, some teenagers placed an outhouse right along first ave. and West Street late one Halloween night!
I think it’s hysterical! I cracked up when I saw that. A friend posted it on my facebook page to be funny! I told him, heck that’s a way to bring in some revenue to the borough! (kidding of course) LOL
Lol……tax them!
This is very funny. We pay these high taxes and this building makes the town look like the slums. Good for who ever did this to poke fun at this mess. Maybe they can put a sign on the bridges that have been out of service for many many years!
